Brown adipose tissue (BAT) dissipates energy and promotes cardio-metabolic health. In this publication, Nieman et al show that treatment of mice with inosine increased BAT-dependent energy expenditure and induced “browning” of white adipose tissue. This work was part of the project A09 (Pfeifer) in close collaboration with projects A10 and A11.
