Frieder Haag has passed away, a great, far-sighted and yet so reserved colleague! Together with Fritz Nolte in the “Frieder & Fritz AG”, he dedicated himself to purinergic signaling, most recently with a focus on the development of ATP sensors and the design of nanobodies.
Frieder has had a decisive influence on the SFB1328, its preparation and development. The name “Adenine Nucleotides in Immunity and Inflammation” originated from his suggestion!
We mourn the loss of one of the great pioneers of purinergic signaling...a great scientist and colleague!
We will always keep Frieder in loving, collegial memory.
