On 6 May, Dr Anna Worthmann (project A19) visited second-term biology classes at the Süderelbe Grammar School in Hamburg. As part of the topic ‘Life and Energy’, the respiratory chain and the role of adenine nucleotides in inflammatory reactions were discussed. Career guidance was also on the agenda: Dr Worthmann provided insights into the career path of a scientist and presented potential career routes in medicine and basic research. Interactive Mentimeter polls and a concluding Q&A session encouraged the students to join in the discussion. More information was posted on their Instagram account.
