The international scientific community has lost its pioneer in purinergic signalling! Geoffrey Burnstock died on the 2ndof June 2020 at the age of 91 in Melbourne (Australia). Our Collaborative Research Centre SFB1328 on adenine nucleotides in immunity and inflammation is unconceivable without Geoff Burnstock’s seminal work. Several times it has been a privilege to have Geoff Burnstock as plenary speaker during international meetings organised by members of the SFB1328.
